In our ongoing endeavor to have FOCUS, we must learn how to transition without losing the ability to FOCUS but also transFORM through transitions.

In Pilates the transition is always the test.  It’s the space between functioning in one’s stability and mobility in the smooth and seamless transfer of a grounding strength to a trusting and extending and length .  The parallelism of the mind and body is truly indistinguishable, what happens in the mind first is executed in and through the body and what is felt in the body becomes a guide for the mind.  When we move from the analytical to the intuitive embodiment of mind, body and spirit we fully transform into the magical space of transition which allows the almost effortless flow from one space to the next without losing our connection to self; mind, body and spirit.

Practically speaking in the transition of movement from one leg or arm to another the core serves as a balancing force of stability so that the mobility between each side becomes a dance of grace in the balance of the push and pull between the strength and length.  The small and subtle space between is the breath.  The harmonic unity of each movement within each breath becomes the dynamic transition from strength to space to strength with an embodiment of self throughout.

This purity of movement and mindfulness comes with and through a deep space of inner connection which allows one to move fluidly without losing the flow and function of execution.

This my friend is the transformation of transition.

I always love to use movement to explore the capacities of facilities of strength on every level of existence.  Strength is not just the ability to contract an isolated muscle to produce force, it’s the deeper source of collective intention through connection that produces unstoppable power without tension.

What this looks like in life during our moments of transition is the ability to ground and connect to our deepest level of the divine power within that allows us to focus inward rather than depend on outward feedback.  When I am challenged in moments of change, I anchor to all that I hold and know as truth.  The core of who I am.  The awareness of the spirit that lives and flourishes when it is called to demonstrate all the training it has received through the test of resiliency, strength and flexibility.

Self, soul and spirit awareness is the greatest strength and indicator of ones success in the transitory spaces of life when we are called to demonstrate the ability to execute the mobility from the stability of mind, body and spirit alignment.
